Single-family lots in Montgomery County, just outside the town limits and beside the oldest golf course in the New River Valley.
Capstone is one of the newest subdivisions around Blacksburg. In September 2025 the Montgomery County Planning Commission took up the final plat for its first phase: 18 single-family lots and more than two acres of open space, served by private wells and septic systems. The land is in the county, next to the Blacksburg town limits and the town's municipal golf course.
That course has a long history of its own. The nine-hole course on Graves Avenue, nicknamed The Hill, opened in the 1920s, was bought by the town in 1971 and was renovated in 2017. It is the oldest course in the New River Valley.
A short walk away in Highland Park stands the Currie House, the 1961 modern house known as the Pagoda House and listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
