History
A new community on the Prices Fork road.
Townhomes, villas and single-family homes by Stateson Homes, a short drive from the historic village of Prices Fork.
Westhill is one of the newest communities west of Blacksburg, built by Stateson Homes off Prices Fork Road, with townhomes, villas and single-family homes along Westhill Parkway and its side streets.
It sits close to the village that gave the road its name. Prices Fork takes its name from the Price, or Preisch, family, early German settlers whose land bordered both sides of the road; German families from Pennsylvania were farming the Prices Fork and Tom's Creek area before 1745. The village grew up in the mid-19th century, and its historic district, listed on the National Register in 1991, includes the James Bain Price House and Price Store, both of 1871.
About a third of a mile north of Westhill stands Evans House No. 2, a two-story, five-bay brick house of about 1860 with stepped-shoulder chimneys and a hipped-roof front porch, also on the National Register.
