History

A neighborhood of mostly 1990s ranch houses on the western edge of town, near the village of Prices Fork.
Montgomery Farms sits on the western edge of Blacksburg and consists mostly of ranch houses built in the 1990s, along Old Fort Road, Sandy Circle and their side streets.
Its setting is old farm country. The village of Prices Fork, about two-thirds of a mile northwest, takes its name from the Price, or Preisch, family; German families from Pennsylvania were farming the Prices Fork and Tom's Creek area before 1745. The village grew in the mid-19th century, and its historic district, on the National Register since 1991, includes the James Bain Price House and Price Store, both of 1871.
Walls Branch Road shares its name with Walls Branch, one of the tributaries that feed Stroubles Creek below the Virginia Tech Duck Pond on its way to the New River.
